LODGING & MEALS: NOTE: This course requires target engagement from alternate positions. ABTD strongly recommends course participants bring a practical LR system that can be shot from various alternate positions or; participants may bring both a practical LR system and an ELR system as desired.

THE COURSE: This training focuses on concentrated implementation of the previous course content while introducing extended long-range engagements. Max Effective provides an environment for shooters to refine their LR abilities to an advanced level while pushing an individual weapon system into trans and subsonic ranges. AB Trainers provide advanced skills, techniques, and methods to aid shooters in accurate extended LR engagements. Maximize your knowledge and shooting abilities while pushing the effective weapons range of your system.
The Max Effective LR course provides concentrated instruction of external ballistics elements, AB devices, alternate firing positions and extended long-range shooting skills. AB Trainers will develop and refine your long-range shooting abilities to continue testing you and your weapon system.
The course begins by revising LR shooting foundations and confirming the short-range setup of the LR weapon platform. Thereafter, it quickly advances with extended LR skills and application, enabling shooters to successfully engage extended LR targets and push the limits of an individual weapon system.
This course is conducted over two days with classroom and range time, culminating with various extended long-range target engagements. Target engagement distances may vary dependent on range location, however will consist of 1500 yards as a minimum.

HOURS: Course participants are requested to meet at The Arena main office / Pro Shop no later than 7:30am to commence the first day of training. Course hours thereafter will be 8:00am – 5:00pm. AB Trainers will also be available for follow up discussion and questions upon completion of each training day.
PRE-REQS: US citizen or US person
Participants must be able to produce proof of citizenship or residency status upon request.
We recommend you have completed Effective LR, or possess the following assumed knowledge to get the most out of this course:
- Ability to individually achieve LR weapon setup and calibration;
- An understanding of MV Temperature Tables
- A working knowledge & understanding of external ballistics;
- Capacity to operate AB devices for single and multi-target engagement;
- Ability and experience spotting and correcting fall of shot
- An understanding of weapon employment zone analysis
- Some experience with alternate positions
- Competence in exercising weapon safety and handling.
Course prerequisites have been put in place to ensure a participant and peers can effectively engage with the course content.
PHYSICAL: Be prepared for two days of range shooting regardless of unfavorable weather conditions.

EQUIPMENT: Bring your personal AB device or take the opportunity to select between a training Kestrel 5700 ELITE AB or Garmin Foretrex 701B.
